Memorial May Events
Honor Those Who Have Sacrificed For Us
Carry The Load asks Americans to simply do something in the month of May, and over Memorial Day weekend, to honor those who have sacrificed for us. We host numerous events throughout the United States, free for the public, where you and as many people as possible are encouraged to help honor and celebrate our nation’s heroes.
Participants are also invited to form teams to walk in respect for our nation’s heroes to fundraise amongst friends, family and coworkers. Last year alone, Carry The Load supporters and sponsors raised more than $2 million for Memorial May to benefit the Continuum of Care program.

Four routes operate daily throughout the month of May, handing off the American flag every 5 miles of walking and/or cycling. More than 15,200 miles of ground covered provides a chance to get out the message about honoring our nation’s heroes.

The Dallas Memorial March, hosted in Carry The Load’s hometown, is our flagship event and the culmination of the National Relay. The March is a 2-day Memorial weekend event honoring service members and their families for the sacrifices they make.

City rallies honor our nation’s heroes during Memorial May. Rallies along the Relay route include the relay bus and team stopping to celebrate hometown heroes. Other rallies are stand alone events that have grown organically.
