Carry The Load’s Memorial May awareness campaign offers meaningful ways for all Americans to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Here’s how you can join:
- Participate by registering for free as an individual or team
- Donate or fundraise to help reach our goal of $2.5 million raised in 2020
- Volunteer with the 15,500-mile national relay, 70+ city rallies and Dallas Memorial March.
In addition, throughout the year Carry The Load provides monthly volunteer opportunities, plus community and virtual events, to promote service in our communities, honor and remember the sacrifices of our heroes and raise funds to support them and their families. Go to our Events page for more.
The National Relay travels 15,500 miles across the country for 32 consecutive days with four different routes walking and cycling each handing off the American flag from city to city to honor our nation’s heroes. The East Coast route begins in West Point, NY covering 3,000 miles. The West Coast route begins in Seattle, WA and covers 4,700 miles. The Midwest route begins in Minneapolis, MN covering 4,100 miles. The Mountain States route begins in Minot, ND covering 3,700 miles. All four routes culminate in Dallas over Memorial Day weekend with the Dallas Memorial March. Go to the National Relay page for more information.
Many cities across the country have joined our mission to honor our nation's heroes during Memorial May. Some of these rallies are along the national relay route, where the relay bus and team will stop for an hour to celebrate local, hometown heroes. Other rallies are stand-alone events that have grown organically to honor our heroes. Go to the City Rallies page.
Dallas Memorial March
Carry The Load’s flagship event and the culmination of the National Relay is the Dallas Memorial March, a two-day event honoring service members, veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. Participants join in the Memorial March at any time during the two days and walk for a few minutes or a few days. Go to the Dallas Memorial March page.
