Staff Sergeant Roberto Loeza served as a squad leader with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss. He joined the Army in 2002 and completed one tour in Iraq and three in Afghanistan. His awards include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal.
Known as “Junior,” Staff Sergeant Loeza was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. A graduate of Mountain View High School, he was known for his loyalty, humor and leadership. He fulfilled his dream of serving in the military and was loved by family and respected by his fellow Soldiers for his strength and heart.
His legacy lives on in his unit, which honored his memory by attending his sister’s graduation after his passing. The Soldier Activity Center at Fort Bliss bears his name, a lasting tribute to his service. His sacrifice reminds us that freedom has a cost, and his spirit continues to guide all who serve.
