Lance Corporal Roger Dale Castleberry Jr. died while conducting combat operations outside Haditha, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, San Antonio, Texas.

Roger’s lifelong desire was to be a Marine. He transferred to Round Rock High School in order to participate in their Marines ROTC Program. From an early age, he prepared for the day that he could become part of the Corps.

The Travis Manion Foundation built a JROTC Cadet obstacle-course on the grounds of Round Rock High School in honor of Lance Cpl. Castleberry, a Round Rock High School and RRHS MCJROTC alumni.
