Cole Trevor Wixom

Fallen Hero’s Hometown and State: Bloomingdale, MI

Branch of Service: United States Army

Rank: Sergeant

Sergeant Wixom began his Army service in August of 2016 with basic training at Ft. Benning, GA and was assigned to Havoc Co., 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment (“Spartans”) at Fort Bliss, TX. He served as a Radio Telephone Operator, Recce Scout, Senior Scout Observer, and Sniper Section Team Leader. Sgt. Wixom deployed to Afghanistan in 2017. He was killed in a Stryker vehicle collision on January 22, 2019, at Ft. Bliss.

Cole Wixom was passionate, adventurous, spontaneous, generous, kind, and a protective advocate for people who could not or would not defend themselves. He had a great nature with a quick and embracing sense of humor; a light without which and our world has become darker. Hope rests in the knowledge that we will see him again one day; until then our mission to love others and keep moving.

We want people to remember Cole and all the others who have chosen to serve the folks of this amazing country. They are all unique, talented, treasured—sons, daughters, husbands, wives, friends, parents who gave their freedom for ours. They handed over their time, ability to make choices, health and some of them, their lives. Always remember. Gratitude. They were soldiers…
