Officer Craig Michael Hanking served as a police officer for the Arlington, Texas Police Department. Craig was assigned to the patrol division. On August 3, 1994, Craig was responding to a burglary call, and became involved in a vehicle collision in his police car. Craig died at the scene of the crash.

Craig is survived by his wife, Cindy. Craig was a young officer, only serving a little more than a year before he was killed in the line of duty. During his time at the Arlington Police Department, Craig touched many people, and he leaves behind a positive legacy to those who follow in service behind him.

Craig was uniquely charismatic, outgoing and energetic. He was well-liked by those around him. Police officers go to work each day putting their lives ahead of others in an effort to better serve their community. Craig was no exception to that characteristic. He is gone, but not forgotten.
