Dylan Merola loved being a marine and served his country proudly. He had a heart of gold and gave to those around him. His smile lit up a room.

Dylan was one of 13 killed in the withdrawal from Afghanistan. His mother, Cheryl, says, “My son was killed saving lives in Kabul, Afghanistan at Abbey Gate during our withdrawal, ending a 20-year war. I hope all who live in freedom remember why. Live to honor others, and that will honor Dylan. Live like Dylan.”
