About Floyd Allen "Al" Riley

Captain Floyd Allen Riley dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. While serving with the Garland County Sheriff’s Office, Riley and another officer were killed when their Hughes TH-55 Osage two-seat helicopter crashed in a wooded area of Saline County, Arkansas. They were assisting other deputies in pursuit of several juvenile burglary suspects.

Al Riley was known for his complete dedication to the law enforcement life and community outreach.

“My dad spent his entire adult life in service of others. First as an Air Force Veteran and then as a law enforcement officer. He thought nothing of putting his own life at risk to save those in his community. He went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety of those he felt were under his watch,” recalled daughter Christina LePage.
