Major Jeffrey “Oz” Ausborn served 19 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot and instructor. While deployed to Afghanistan, he was one of nine Americans assassinated by an Afghan military pilot who turned on them during a meeting at the Kabul airport. Jeffrey loved his children, parents and his military family. He also loved to fly and was a fan of Alabama Football. His mother, Faye, remembers him this way: “Jeffrey, you will never be forgotten! You now have daddy in Heaven with you. I love and miss you both every second.”
