Private First Class Joseph A. Marquez enlisted in the United States Army on January 12, 2021, and proudly served as Motor Transport Operator until his death during an Army training exercise at the Yakima Training Center in Washington State. Pfc. Marquez always dreamed of serving his country. He received both the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.
Joseph, “Joey” to those who knew him best, was a true hero. He was kind, loving, loyal, and hard working. He was a gifted athlete and loved fishing and hunting. Some of Joey’s favorite places included the beach and the ball field. He loved the NY Giants and the NY Yankees.
Joey was a faithful young man who loved God, his family, and his country. He was a light and a true friend who impacted many lives during his short time here on earth. Joey gave his life in service to our country, and his sacrifice is always to be remembered.
