About Joseph Thomas Zygarowski

Sergeant Joseph Thomas Zygarowski enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2018, doing Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and then Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. His first duty station was with the 531st Hospital Center at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was later assigned to the 149th Seaport Operations company at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He was killed during a training accident. Joseph had a heart of gold and always had a smile on his face. He was a friend to everyone. “Sergeant Zygarowski was a model soldier, non-commissioned officer, and leader. His presence and expertise will be deeply missed by everyone in the team,” said Captain Jonah Crews, commander of the 149th Seaport Operations Company.
