Lance proudly served in the law enforcement field for nine years, five of which was spent in Hood County, Texas. He was a patrol sergeant, SWAT team member and served on the honor guard as well. Lance started his law enforcement career in Hamilton County, Texas before settling down with the Hood County Sheriff’s Office.

Lance was killed in the line of duty protecting a teenage sexual assault victim outside of Granbury, Texas. Lance had a smile that could brighten up any room and always had a way of making people feel welcome and happy. He never met a stranger and anyone who knew
Lance knew that he would be there for you in a drop of a hat.

Lance was a hero on all fronts of life, not only was he a hero for protecting and serving the community but he was a hero at home to his family and friends. He will never be forgotten and will always be a hero in our hearts.
