About Randell Edwin Willmon

Captain Randell Edwin Willmon served the Dallas Fire Department for over 28 years, rising through the ranks to captain. He was also an officer for his local volunteer fire department, serving his community for over nine years. Captain Willmon was on the Wildland team and worked at a special-ops station for swift water rescue. He epitomized what it means to be a firefighter, helping those that came after him be successful and passionate in their role. Willmon succumbed to fire related injuries in the line of duty, making the ultimate sacrifice.

After his diagnosis, Randy became an advocate for occupational cancer awareness and was pivotal in making institutional safety changes in the department. His story is shared with every rookie class in training.

Randy was a man of faith, loving his family, and living a selfless life to the absolute fullest!
