Sergeant First Class Stephen T. Wight joined the U.S. Army in 1984. He deployed to Germany and later to Iraq, serving as a gunner with Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, AKA “Big Iron.” Wight was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during Operation Desert Storm. He died of service-related chronic pulmonary disease.
Stephen was kind, considerate and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need.
Katrina Wight, Stephen’s wife recalled, “He was so kind and patient. He loved his family more than anything.”
