COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — As Memorial Day approaches a national non-profit 'Carry the Load' is bringing its message of remembrance for all first responders and military throughout the country.

The Columbus-based First Responder Face-Off Foundation and its Hockey Helping Heroes initiative has announced it will be a Carry The Load nonprofit partner for the 2023 Memorial May campaign and make stops in Bay Village, Rocky River and Westlake, according to a news release.

The Culpeper Police Department was honored to escort Carry The Load through town Monday morning in addition to dozens of bicycle riders on Thursday on the way to D.C. for National Police Week.
