As the non-profit “Carry the Load” continues to make its way across the country — honoring those who gave their all to our country — we’re now four days out until they stop here in Mobile and Pensacola.

For more than 14 years Carry the Load has been putting the focus back on the true meaning of Memorial Day — raising awareness and funding. With each step is a moment of reflection and also a moment to honor the men and women who have died for freedom.

What began as a grassroots effort in 2011 has expanded its footprint across the nation. Throughout “Memorial May’ there’s daily tributes on social media and more in-depth tributes can be found on their website. For the families — it’s all about remembering the sacrifice of their sons and daughters.

The Carry the Load event in Mobile will be at Battleship Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 20th. There will also be three in Pensacola also set for Tuesday, May 20th. Click here for more information.
