‘Carry The Load’ makes stop in Onalaska on nationwide Memorial Day tour

A national movement to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day made its way through Onalaska Monday, bringing with it powerful stories of service and sacrifice.

Carry the Load, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring fallen military heroes, stopped in the city as part of its nationwide relay.

The organization works to remind Americans that Memorial Day is more than just a holiday weekend it’s a time to remember those who gave their lives in service to the country.

Founded in 2011 by former Navy SEALs Clint Bruce and Steve Holley, Carry the Load began as a mission to restore the sacred meaning of Memorial Day.
