Carry the Load benefitting from North Texas Giving Day
Good Day got a first look at the impact of North Texas Giving Day when it kicked off at 6 a.m. Donors have been generously giving to the 3,300 local nonprofits that are participating. One of those charities is Carry the Load, which is known for a huge Memorial Day event in Dallas.

Carry The Load cleans Culpeper National Cemetery
A national nonprofit group, known as Carry The Load, came to Culpeper National Cemetery on Sept. 11 to show their respect to fallen soldiers by cleaning the grounds at Culpeper National Cemetery.
To celebrate Patriots’ Day, the group gathered volunteers to help clean headstones and pick up trash among from 9 a.m. to noon, as part of its National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Weston (West Virginia) Masonic Cemetery spruced up as part of National Day of Service
WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Families of loved ones buried in Weston Masonic Cemetery will notice clean headstones and shorter grass during their upcoming visits.
Nearly 50 volunteers cleaned the cemetery, also known as Lewis County Memorial Gardens, along Old Route 33 during the National Day of Service on Monday.

Volunteers clean graves at WV National Cemetery
GRAFTON, W.Va (WDTV) - Today as we remember the lives lost on 9/11 and in the war on terror, there are some community members finding a way to pay respects for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
More than a dozen volunteers spent the day at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton as part of the “Carry the Load” mission.

AmeriCorps honors 9/11 by cleaning graves at West Virginia National Cemetery
GRAFTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Over the last two decades, people have found different ways to pay homage and honor those who have lost their lives in the terroristic attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001.
Sept. 11 is now commonly recognized as National Day of Service and Remembrance, and this year, West Virginia University’s AmeriCorps collaborative sector traveled to the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton to scrub headstones and help clean up gravesites.

Houston’s National Cemetery hosts day of service on eve of 9/11 anniversary
HOUSTON - Monday is the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attack.
The National Day of Service and Remembrance took place Sunday morning at Houston's National Cemetery to honor the date.
More than a thousand volunteers assembled to clean the facilities in the memorial of the event.
The observance of 9/11 was organized to honor the victims just months after the attack by a small group of family members and friends.
