Sergeant Chris Pliske served with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, Machine Gunner mobile assault platoon.

Pliske was a great leader. He inspired his fellow Marines with his motivation. Whenever anyone was looking for his platoon, they could usually find most of them with Chris. His smile and his humor hid the pain that he was dealing with from several trips into combat, and the loss of his friends. He didn’t want to burden people with his troubles. He will be forever missed.
