David M. Larson

Fallen Hero’s Hometown and State: Willmar, MN

Branch of Service: United States Army

Rank: Sergeant First Class

Sergeant First Class David M. Larson was a 26-year hard-charging Infantry Veteran who deployed overseas multiple times. Tragically, he died of service-related colon cancer before he hit his retirement goal of 30 years.

David was the kindest person anyone could ever meet, and an incredible father and husband. He had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He had a way of seeing the brighter side of life. David kept his moral compass always pointed in the right direction, doing what’s right. “Our world was a much better place with him in it,” recalled his wife Simone.

Simone continued, “Take the time to love those around you, the ones who will love you back. Don’t let any grass grow under you. Love hard. Dave embraced us and loved us hard, making incredible memories. He didn’t waste time on things. His focus was time.”
