Sergeant Eric Wayne McGarity proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was stationed at MCAS Beaufort with MWSS 273, deployed twice to Iraq and then stationed at Camp Pendleton with the 1st CEB, deployed twice to Afghanistan. He completed his active duty as a Drill Instructor on MCRD San Diego with 3rd Battalion Kilo Co.
Eric McGarity absolutely adored his family and friends. He loved each one from the depths of his heart and cherished every moment spent with them. He especially LOVED his boys Devontae and Axton. Eric was funny, easy-going, and loved to have a good time. Anyone he cared about could always count on him if they needed something.
He was a great dad. Eric was always present when he was able, he was always in the moment with them, playing, rough housing, teaching, and showing them true unconditional love as a parent. He leaves memories that will live on in those he loved.
