John Rikard

Police Sergeant John Rikard served with the Asheville Police Department. During his career, he worked patrol, community resource, and detective in major crimes. As a sergeant he oversaw his Downtown patrol unit, and road patrol for West District. He followed the book, but still made his team respect and look up to him.

At home, John loved to shoot targets and teach gun safety with his son. He enjoyed working out, listening to heavy metal music, and cooking his mom’s recipes. John was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and was himself a state champion heavyweight wrestler and a football player.

Above all, John loved his son Tucker. He was a loving and gentle giant who could make anyone laugh and is missed dearly.
