Jorge Pastore joined the Austin Police Department in 2019. He was a patrol officer in Henry and George sector. He proudly served in APD’s Honor Guard, Counter Assault Strike Team (CAST), Special Response Team (SRT) and SWAT Gold Team. Prior to that, he was a firefighter, paramedic, and Lieutenant for over ten years in South Florida. Pastore died after being shot while responding to a hostage rescue SWAT call.
Jorge truly lived to elevate, motivate, and encourage people to be the best version of themselves. His energy and smile were magnetic and made you want to be in his presence. He was a bright light and humble warrior who championed other people’s dreams and goals. He lived his life in the service of others, which was his true purpose.
