Sheep Dog hosting NWA Heroes ‘Ruck & Rally’
ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Sheep Dog Impact Assistance announced it will be hosting the “NWA Heroes Ruck & Rally” at Veterans Memorial Park next week to “honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.”
The event will be on May 21 at 8 a.m. and will include both a 5K and a one-mile run. Participants are encouraged to carry a weighted backpack with the names of loved ones on it to symbolically “carry the load” for soldiers killed while serving in the military.
As a Carry The Load (CTL) Non-Profit Partner for the 2022 Memorial May campaign, SDIA says it will help raise awareness and funds that are essential to helping military, veterans, first responders and their families.

Fallen heroes remembered in Carry the Load relay ahead of Memorial Day Weekend
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — “Who do you carry?” is the question asked during the Carry the Load Relay, a 20,000-mile march that leads up to Memorial Day Weekend in Dallas. On Friday, marchers with the caravan will pass through Las Vegas in a remembrance walk paying tribute to fallen military and first responders.
“It’s really just a great way to share that feeling and also just to make sure these people know that we’re never going to forget their loved ones,” said David Lindsey, a retired Dallas firefighter, and now the West Coast route manager with Carry the Load.

Non-profit walks across the country for fallen heroes and comes to Lansing
LANSING, Mich (WLNS) — Memorial Day is two weeks away. Members of the non-profit organization called “Carry the Load” are working across the country to bring people together leading up to the holiday.
The mid-west route started in Minneapolis last week and made its way through Grand Rapids yesterday making its way through Lansing before heading to Detroit on Saturday, May 14.

CARRY THE LOAD | Volunteers walk across country to honor nation’s heroes
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As the sun sets on a long, but productive day, Jeremiah Kincaid takes time to reflect as he hangs out at the fire station at Burton Street in Grand Rapids. The names on his backpack tell the story.
"Carrying family members of mine means a lot, because had it not been for doing family research, I would have never even known about them." Kincaid said.
"We essentially forgot about them in my own family."
Kincaid and a number of other volunteers for an organization called "Carry The Load" want to make sure that those who made a sacrifice for our country are never forgotten again. That's why they're walking across the country carrying backpacks with the names of heroes on them, and carrying American flags.

20,000-mile national relay walks through Henrico ahead of Memorial Day weekend
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County was just one-stop in a 20,000-mile national relay for the ‘Carry The Load’ awareness campaign.
Jason Santos, the East Coast relay manager, has seen a great response from the communities along their 32-day tour.
“We’ve had good participation with local folks coming out, supporting us, and walking with us,” Santos said. “A lot of honks as we walk and waves. So, we have had good support.”

Carry the Load relay makes its way to Wisconsin to honor fallen veterans and first responders
WISCONSIN — A 20,000-mile relay is making its way through Wisconsin to honor our fallen military and first responders.
Mike Golden, also known as Goldy, started a journey with several others across the midwest to honor fallen veterans and first responders.
“We like to get people stories, hear about their loved ones that served and we will carry them all the way back to Dallas with us,” said Golden.

Carry the Load Relay Treks through Greater Lansing
The 10th annual Carry the Load national relay will trek through Greater Lansing this month to help raise awareness and honor the nation’s fallen military personal and first responders as part of a Memorial Day commemoration.
“For anyone who has lost someone in service to our country, they will tell you that participating in Carry the Load has made a lasting impact on their life,” said Stephen Holley, president and CEO of Carry the Load. “There is nothing like the human touch. Being in that environment, walking side-by-side one another and sharing stories demonstrates beyond words that people do care.”

Carry the Load relay honors fallen military and first responders along the coast
GOLETA, Calif.- People from Santa Barbara and Oxnard joined the Carry the Load relay from Goleta to Santa Barbara City College on Monday.
Carry the Load Executive director Debbie Wright said they have enjoyed the reactions from people along the coast.
"You know, you get all sorts of reactions, you get a lot of positive horn honking, and seeing the American flag. We are all Americans, we are all here to unite behind those who protect us, keep us free every day."

Veterans walk 20,000 miles for the fallen
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Memorial Day is just a few weeks away, and one group wants to remind people it's about more than just barbecues and a day off from work.
